Gravity - Doritos® - Crash the Super Bowl 2012

Hi Guys, as you may have noticed I haven't posted anything in about a year. Well, I've been a little busy making commercials. I shot about ten commercials in the last ten months. Some were award winning, some were not:) Recently I did a commercial entitled "Gravity" for the Doritos "Crash The Superbowl" contest. The spot has generated a lot of buzz and is considered to be a contender to make the Top Five. It has been featured on a ton of rock climbing websites worldwide.

Check it out on the official Doritos "Crash The Superbowl" website, and leave a comment if you like it.
To read some of the rock climbing articles about the spot, head on over to my Pixelphile Blog.
You can also check it out over on Vimeo, were we have over 10,000 views.
And of course it's also featured on YouTube.

I promise that one of my next commercials will feature some classic BMX!

Cheers! - Michael "Crank King"

1979 Robinson Looptail

Here's a nice 1979 Robinson Looptail. This is the model that Bobby Woods made famous on the cover of the 1979 June issue of BMX Action Magazine.

I dig the white and blue color combo.

As listed on eBay. Offered at $725.00. Item #19047630725

Bicycle Race/Fat Bottomed Girls

Sorry that it has been so long since I posted anything. To make up for it here is a picture that has absolutely nothing to do with BMX. But they are on bicycles after all:) Click on the above image for a much larger version.

From the album poster promoting the songs "Bicycle Race"/"Fat Bottomed Girls" from the rock band Queen and their 1978 album "Jazz".

You just gotta love the late 70's.

Green is Good

Okay, this guy is on a mountain bike instead of a BMX bike, but who cares? Green is Good.

E.T. on a Kuwahara

Here is a sweet illustration that Bob Haro did way back in 1982 for BMX Plus magazine. Bob was also a featured stunt rider in the movie. He is the one who knocks off the police light as he is riding over the car. Unfortunately, Bob and the other riders were not credited for their work, since they were not SAG members.

Kuwahara E.T. Original Condition

Time to go way back in time, all the way back to 1982. When a short little alien with a glowing finger made Kuwahara a household word. Here is an original unrestored E.T. looptail. It appears to be a Model 3009, also known as the Replica model. It looks like it is in amazing shape, and even still has the original powder that covers the tires.

As listed on eBay. Offered at $6,000.00 starting bid. Item #270588717537

Woody Itson 1986 Hutch Ad

Back in the 80's it was okay to have a mustache and ride an all pink bike. Here is Woody Itson doing his best Magnum, P.I. impersonation, circa 1986. In the backseat of his Porsche is his trademark pink Hutch Trick Star.

Donna on a Haro Sport

Here is something you don't see every day. NBL Elite Pro and Miss Sarasota USA 2009, Donna Snow, standing next to a 1985 Haro Sport. Bike belongs to Greg Terzian who has restored it back to factory specs. Greg is also a talented photographer and took this picture of Donna and his Haro.

Here is Donna tearing up the track. She currently races for the BMX Mania Factory Team.

Team Haro Reunion Show

Back at BMX Worlds 2009 in Cologne, Germany, the original Team Haro reunited for the first time in decades. The whole gang was there, including riders: Mike Dominguez, Brian Blyther, Ron Wilkerson, Dave Nourie, and announcer Kevin Martin. Vert ramp legend Mat Hoffman and the man himself, Bob Haro, were also there.

What an amazing site to see a bunch of 40 year old guys kicking it old school on some rad vintage Haro's. There were some nice crashes, which makes you cringe when you think how rare and valuable those bikes are. How often do you get a chance to see all these legends in one place doing what they love? I guess some scratches and dings are definitely worth it.

HD video shot and edited by Dominik Wrobel for Woozy BMX.

Bride on a P.K. Ripper - NSFW!

Not really sure what it is about a P.K. Ripper, but somehow it makes your top fall off. Just like it did for Karen Leah. For that very reason, I think that all guys should have a P.K. Ripper in their stable. You never know when that special lady friend is going to stop by and want to go for a ride. Just be sure to keep your Mom away from it, some things we don't need to see. Oh, the humanity!

Chainless BMX Concept

Here's a BMX concept designed by Russian Nikolay Boltachev. It features a chainless and hubless drive system. Looks cool, if they make an iRobot 2, it would fit in quite nicely. I could see this being used in Sci Fi films, but highly doubt that it would stand up to the rigors of BMX.

Mike Buff P.K. Ripper Tribute

Steve Blackey, a former mechanic from the Bicycle Source Bike Shop, made a Mike Buff tribute P.K. Ripper, that he auctioned off on eBay for Parkinsons research. The idea came to him when he found out that his friend, John Crews of Bicycles Plus, has Parkinsons.

This bike was a combination of old school styling and modern components. Mike Buff himself even signed the number plate and posed for a few pics. This was a great idea for a great cause.

The winning bid was for $1,000.00 Item #110520843556

Check out Mike Buff doing a "front wheel freezer" back when he was on the BMX Action Trick Team.
